Short Term Training Helps Job Seekers Return to Work

(BINGHAMTON, NY) Time is running out to sign-up for short-term training programs leading to employment. Individuals pursuing new careers can find help by visiting the Broome Tioga Workforce New York office located at 171 Front Street in Binghamton, or by calling 607-778-2136.

Workforce staff is currently assigning individuals for classes to be held during July and August of this year. Those classes include training in carpentry, masonry, welding, machine operation and auto mechanics.
 
Appropriate persons may have their training paid for through the Workforce Investment Act, which has received additional funding via the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
 
Broome-Tioga Workforce New York operates two One Stop Centers to provide local residents with employment assistance and career advice, and to assist local businesses with recruiting and training. The Workforce New York offices are located at 171 Front Street in Binghamton, and at the Tioga County Human Services building located on Route 38 in Owego, NY.
 
Broome-Tioga Workforce is a unique partnership between Tioga and Broome Counties and the regional business community to help businesses recruit and retain talented workers, assess and respond to current and future workforce needs, and help individuals obtain rewarding career opportunities.
